2020 ATP Tour Finals Day 4 Recap

Daniil Medvedev would dominate Novak Djokovic, Alexander Zverev and Diego Schwartzman would play a tight three-setter, and much more at the ATP Tour Finals.

2020 ATP Tour Finals Day 4 Results

Singles Results

Alexander Zverev vs. Diego Schwartzman

In the opening set of Alexander Zverev’s match against Diego Schwartzman, Zverev would break Schwartzman’s serve twice, in the fourth and sixth games, to take the set 6-3.

But, in the second set, Schwartzman would respond by getting two breaks of his own, in the sixth and tenth games, to take the set 6-4 and force a third set.

In the decisive third set, Zverev would get two breaks of Schwartzman’s serve, in the fifth and ninth games, to take the set 6-3 and the match 6-3, 4-6, 6-3.

Novak Djokovic vs. Daniil Medvedev

In the opening set of Daniil Medvedev’s match against Novak Djokovic, down 2-3, Medvedev would win four straight games to take the set 6-3.

In the second set, Medvedev would come out firing, winning the first three games before taking the set at 6-3 to win the match 6-3, 6-3.

Doubles Results

M.Pavic / B.Soares vs. M.Granollers / H.Zeballos

In the opening set of Marcel Granollers and Horacio Zeballos’ match against Mate Pavic and Bruno Soares, each team would hold their serve all the way to a tiebreak.

In the tiebreak, Granollers and Zeballos would come out on top, 7-4, to take the set 7-6 (7-4). In the second set, they would once again hold their serves to a tiebreak.

In this tiebreak, Pavic and Soares would prevail, 7-4, to take the set 7-6 (7-4) and force a third set tiebreak. In the third set tiebreak, Granollers and Zeballos would win, 10-8, to take the match 7-6 (7-4), 6-7 (4-7), 10-8.

J.Peers / M.Venus vs. J.Melzer / E.Roger-Vasselin

The last doubles match of the day would be a good one between the team of John Peers and Michael Venus and the team of Jurgen Melzer and Edouard Roger-Vasselin.

In the opening set of their match, the team of John Peers and Michael Venus would get two breaks of their opponents’ serve, in the fourth and eighth games, to take the set 6-2.

But, in the second set, each team would manage to hold their serve all the way to a tiebreak. In the tiebreak, Melzer and Roger-Vasselin would prevail, 7-4, to take the set 7-6 (7-4) and force a third set tiebreak.

In the third set tiebreak, Melzer and Roger-Vasselin would come out on top, 12-10, to win the match 2-6, 7-6 (7-4), 12-10.
