Despite a challenge from the eighth-seeded team of Wesley Koolhof and Nikola Mektic, the team of Mate Pavic and Bruno Soares would win this year’s US Open Men’s Doubles Championship.

2020 US Open Men’s Doubles Championship Results

In the opening set of their match against the eighth-seeded team of Wesley Koolhof and Nikola Mektic, Mate Pavic and Bruno Soares would have to fight for a win.

After each team held their serve for a combined eleven games straight, Pavic and Soares would break their opponents’ serve in a deuce exchange to take the set 7-5.

In the second set, with the set tied at two, Pavic and Soares would win three games in a row to take a commanding 5-2 lead. Following this, each team would hold their serve until Pavic and Soares did so in the ninth game, at love, to take the set 6-3.

With this, Mate Pavic and Bruno Soares won the 2020 US Open Men’s Doubles Championship.
