Altec Styslinger Exhibition Day 1 Recap

Day 1 of the Altec Styslinger Tennis Exhibition had some great matches, including an impressive performance from the 18-year-old Brandon Nakashima.

Altec Styslinger Exhibition Day 1 Results

Tennys Sandgren vs. JC Aragone

In the first ever match of the Altec Styslinger Tennis Exhibition, Tennys Sandgren got the best of JC Aragone in the first set.

In the Fast4 format, Sandgren only allowed Aragone to win one game in the opening set and won the set 4-1. In the second set, Aragone managed to win two games, but it wouldn’t be enough to stop Sandgren who would win the match 4-1, 4-2.

Sam Querrey vs. Mackenzie McDonald

After both Sam Querrey and Mackenzie McDonald held their serves through six games, we got to see the first tiebreak of the tournament.

In the tiebreak, Querrey got the best of McDonald, 7-5, to take the set 4-3 (7-5).

In the second set, Querrey would beat McDonald, 4-2, to win the match 4-3 (7-5), 4-2.

Hubert Hurkacz vs. Brandon Nakashima

After breaking Hubert Hurkacz in the first game of the match, Brandon Nakashima was forced into a tiebreak that he would eventually win 8-6 to take the first set.

In the second set, Nakashima would take over to win the match 4-3 (8-6), 4-1.

Steve Johnson vs. Reilly Opelka

In the first set of this strong-server versus strong-server match, the two would hold their serves all the way to a tiebreak that Reilly Opelka would win 11-9.

In the second set it was all Reilly Opelka, who would win the set 4-1 to take the match 4-3 (11-9), 4-1.
